Embrace Teachers Mission

Oak Valley Elementary School
Celebrating teachers on the front lines in the heart of our city.

Embrace Teachers is an outreach ministry to bless and honor our teachers.  Westwood members have the opportunity to become involved in the community with their gifts and talents by providing/delivering meals, notes of encouragement, special treats, cleaning products and service, and ongoing prayer support throughout the school year.

“Seeking to put God’s love into action, Habitat for Humanity brings people together to build homes, communities and hope.”

Westwood Church joined forces with Habitat For Humanity Omaha in 1996 and was assigned to the Faithful Builders Coalition to work with 10 other Omaha Christian Churches located in central and west Omaha.

Partnership 4 Hope is a mentoring program whose mission is to provide mentoring support for Young Adult Former Foster Youth on their journey towards independence.  As these young adults “age out” or turn 19, they begin to lose services and support available to them while trying to figure out how to live on their own and support themselves.

Abide is a ministry that invests in the neighborhoods of North Omaha, working to revitalize the inner city one neighborhood at a time. Westwood partners with Abide to care for our city in ways that honor Jesus and proclaim the truth of His love and grace.

Westwood has it’s own Cub Scout Pack!

The Scouts BSA’s mission is to prepare young people to make ethical and moral choices over their lifetimes by instilling in them the values of the Scout Oath and Scout Law. The Scouts BSA vision is to prepare every eligible youth in America to become a responsible, participating citizen and leader who is guided by the Scout Oath and Law. The Scouting program has specific objectives, commonly referred to as the “Aims of Scouting.” They are character development, leadership development, citizenship training, and personal fitness.

The goal at Campus Life is to help students make good choices, establish a solid foundation for life and positively impact their schools.   They provide a place where everyone belongs – students can be themselves, fit in and have fun!  They discuss relevant topics and give students a chance to share about what is going on in their lives.
