The first Sunday of ADVENT is November 27th!

As we all count down the days to Christmas, this can be a special time for you and your family to focus on Jesus, the most important reason we make such a big deal about Christmas. Our little ones, especially, often need to be told, and taught, and shown what Christmas is all about again and again. There are many ways to do this – one of the most important ways is to read God’s Word. We encourage you to take some time early on in Advent to read the Christmas accounts in Matthew 1-2 and Luke 1-2 individually or as a family. But in addition to that, there are lots of fantastic resources available that engage adults and kids and families, too.  Below are a few of our favorites with links to order them from Amazon or download directly.  Take a minute to order one for you or your family!

This is a great book for families with young children (ages 2-5)! Each page is loaded with talk-about opportunities as we learn all about the amazing events of the first Christmas. BUY it online: Seek and Find: The First Christmas

This family Advent devotional features 25 family devotions with each week focused on one of the themes of Advent (Hope, Love, Joy, and Peace).  Following each short devotional are questions or discussion prompts.  This is appropriate for a family with elementary and older kids.  BUY it online: The Way to the Manger

Jotham’s Journey is the first book in a series of adventure stories for upper elementary and older that guides families through the Advent season. If your family has already read Jotham’s Journey, check out one of the other books in the series!
